Showboat Casino-Hotel is undergoing a massive renovation project that includes almost every aspect of the casino, from the employees areas to the casino floor itself. The project, which costs $43 million dollars, includes changing carpets, ceilings, furniture, wall coverings, lighting, colors, chandeliers and the look in general. The main idea is to change it into a more relaxing and comfortable atmosphere.

A new casino bar in the middle of the casino floor will be added to the Spirit Bar and the Masque Bar, already part of the casino. This bar will be the first to be completed, expected to open this summer. Although five floors are already complete, the rest will not be finished until the end of the year.

Already open is the Fortune Abounds Pavillion, a new Asian gaming area including baccarat, tiles and Pai Gow Poker. The area was worth $3.7 million dollars. Among the games offered, it also features the Royal Noodle House. The decoration consists of a hand-crafted marble dragon fountain, hand-carved wooden columns and Asian artifacts.
