Baccarat wagering and win increased

April was the first month during 2006 Nevada casinos won less than $1 billion dollars from gambling. Despite these figures, casinos didn’t suffer, as the amount collected from their customers showed a 12.7% increase in comparison with last year’s incomes for the same month.

April has traditionally been one of the weakest months for gambling due to Easter holidays and the tax deadline, which hold back casino customers from spending as much as the rest of the year. Gaming incomes for January, February and March surpassed $1 billion dollars in the state, and the following months are expected to return to those figures.

Baccarat betting and win in Las Vegas also increased, even though no special events were held during that period. Baccarat win reached $55.8 million dollars, 15.3% higher than in April 2005. $382 million dollars were wagered on baccarat, representing 37% more than the amount wagered the previous year.
