Katherine Salvat, from Metairie, Louisiana, won $8.2 million playing at a progressive slot machine at “Isle of Capri Casino & Resort”, at Biloxi, Mississippi. Salvant said that she played $200 at the ¢25 “Wheel of Fortune” before hitting the jackpot.

Salvant, a retired nurse that used to work at the New Orleans Fair Grounds Racing tracks, has been visiting south Mississippi’s Casinos for several years. When asked about the destination for the money, this lucky mother of four just said she needed a new car. No further comments were made to the press.

Isle of Capri Casino & Resort, at Biloxi, is the first inland casino ever built in Mississippi. The new casino offers more than 900 slot machines with ticket in/ticket out technology, 27 casino games and a brand new poker room. The hotel has 500 rooms, Caribbean style, 200 suites with Jacuzzi and 3 restaurants.
